Blood collection stations

Department of Medical Sciences pilots the way to collect patients’ blood near their house in 5 large hospitals around Bangkok to reduce waiting time at the hospitals. Previously, the congestion of patients waiting at a large hospital mostly is to wait for blood result from the laboratory which requires an average waiting period of 2 - 5 hours. According to this guideline, patients will be able to draw blood from the nearest local hospital or a private clinic within 1 week before the appointment. After that, the clinic will send blood samples to the hospital for an examination. So that doctors can immediately use the results on the appointment date. Generally, it is expected that this approach will leave patients with only 1 - 1.5 hours left in the hospital.
