The Ministry of Public Health, Disease Control Department, Medical Sciences Division together with the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute have jointly developed a method for detecting Covid-19 in saliva. Ramathibodi Hospital has reported that it is as effective as the method of examining nasal and throat secretions, or RT-PCR method. Saliva detection methods are accepted in many countries. The advantage of detecting Covid-19 in saliva is that it is cheaper to collect the sample.
